Great inspiration, a strong mind, intelligence and has the goods to become a man of success with a hood mentality that's Lealan and Lloyd. Hood mentality is a word that people use expressing young people from the ghetto. They are the perfect example of that, they struggled everyday but had the smarts of any college student. Sometimes you have to adapt to the laws of the land and not the world. So many things go into the raising of a child in the book Our America the boy's interview the victims Eric Morse mother. Ms. Morse felt that the environment and the living arrangements have a major affect on the child. Such things as drug dealing, killings, the apartments and the fact that they are managed poorly, children growing up without mothers and fathers or seeing them on drugs. If there is no one to care for the child and set boundaries then how can a child learn anything but what the street teaches. Which now the child is following the laws of the land meaning survival beyond all means, so that may mean killing, robbing, dealing all sorts of things and it becomes hard for them to believe that anyone cares for them. Dose it make it right no but how can you blame them when no one was there to teach them different. Ms. Morse spoke with understanding and forgiveness in her voice because she grew up in the hood and she knows the things that go in to a child and how some never receive that so they go to the streets for it. Personally i had issues but i still had someone who cared who invested in me a strong foundation from an early childhood but i do understand why for some they don't follow America's laws the follow the laws of the streets.

Lealan has become more grounded in his quest of survival he's getting ready to go away for college and has traveled the world giving talks on the book and national issues dealing with black communities. Lloyd has fell off some he has to go through summer school to graduate but the fire still burns he's fighting to make it. They're not as close as they use to yes but they are still bestfriends but they have separted some but thats what happens when you get older and try new things. But when it comes down to it they have become fine young men and they have done so much in such a short time they used they're knowlege and life as a way of getting the word out to the world. So it is postive and i would like to know where they are now what other projects did they get into because it's wonderful knowing that they made it.
