Marks Question-
In Persepolis, Marjane went through numerous stages. I don't think she's a weird person I just think she is a very curious girl that's around adult conversations. Since her mind is not yet mature she doesn't understand the concept. She tells her classmates and teacher that she wants to become a prophet and looks at her class as if their naive. Another example of something weird she does is sitting in the bath tub for hours. After she hears the story of how her grandfather was taken to jail and put behind bars for year, she wanted to see how it would feel to be trapped in a bath tub. Her actions here show me that she is just very curious and wants to in some way experience or connect with everything she hears, read, or see. Something weird I experienced was drinking a smoothie with tapioca. Ive never tried tapioca before but always wanted to try it when ever I saw someone else drinking one. So I went into one of my favorite smoothie places and ordered a strawberry-peach and mango smoothie with tapioca. I was eager yet scared to try the smoothie. So there i was with the smoothie in my hang. I took the first sip and a tapioca ball came up the straw, "Finally" i thought excited. That was the day I realized I hate tapioca!!! It was gross! It tasted like a raisin in a ball shape but chewy and gummy as if someone sucked on it for hours and put it in the smoothie. It was so gross I went and got a second cup and separated the tapioca out of the smoothie. It was a funny experience but I trying weird things. So I guess I'd say in a way I'm weird myself. I like to be different and show it. Different things catch my attention unlike others and I like it! Everyone weird in their own way!
Aries Question-
Marjane does and does not deal with violence at the same time. She is surrounded by a lot of violence. Her fathers job contains violence, the movie theater in her town gets burned down with people inside, when the veil arrives to their country there's political violence, her and her friends get nails and put them between their fingers to beat up the neighbor because his father kills communists, and a last example of violence is when her fathers friend that has just gotten out of jail tells how his friend was tortured and killed and cut into pieces. After all of
these violent events she goes to her "comfort zone" which is her room and talks to God. She sits and think and asks why???Every day when I turn on the news there's a story of how someone was killed or robbed. When I was at work the radio shack next to my job was robbed. I don't understand the reason for violence because your hurting innocent people to make yourself feel better and honestly that's pointless. I do not agree with dog fighting or boxing. About 30 people die a year because of boxing and what does boxing do for anyone? hitting someone, almost killing them raises someone elses' self esteem and if you need to do all of that just to make yourself feel better you need to go sit down because its not that serious. Some people love boxing including those involved in the boxing matches. They enjoy a fight, getting attention, or the feel of their Adrenalineladrenaline rush. I would not participate in watching boxing this is a sport that i think should only be in movies and not in real life.
