Just like Maryjane from the book Persepolis, LeAlan and Lloyd from the book Our America escape the harsh realities of the projects by getting away for a while. Both would take a bus or use their school time to stay away from the stress that results from the increasing violence of Ida B Wells. When LeALan and Lloyd are not escaping reality they tell their story about the place where they live. Talking about what happens in the ghetto helps give them an understanding about the way things are in the south side of Chicago.
When I get away from reality I simply find way to keep to myself. Maybe I'll go somewhere so I can be by myself or like LeAlan and Lloyd I would just get away from any area that gives me stress, the place that makes me want to get away from the world's troubles in the first place. One of the best ways for me to get away from life is to go home and sleep or read, just relax.
