A Rose Grew SarahW

Gun shots and dead bodies fill the streets like

the water in the ocean

The lines of life becomes a blur

As little kids are stripped of they're innocence

But yet again laughter swarms the air

As fillies to a dead body

No remorse no tears no investigation

Just the neighborhood fear

Boys choose to follow figures who

had no father figure

Mothers cry out but the noise

Falls on deaf ears

But yet sometimes a rose

can survive the harshness of winter

To anew future but the past is always there but only as a

reminder never to be taken for granted.

Lealan and Lloyd had seen so much death that they became immune to the effects of it. When you see things like that at such a young age it takes that innocence from you. They had to grow up sooner then they were suppose to. Through all the things I've seen never have i became immune to it yet they were immune but by telling the story a difference was made and someone heard them. As for me um.... my family was close knit but my father was abusive so my mom divorced him and like the two boys in the story through my own pain i wish to help others and to not let the past effect the future. So we all have weird points in our lives or things that are kept secret. But learn from the past and use towards the future your voice may help someone you never know.

Ida B Wells was a violent based neighbor hood you never knew who was going to die next or if you would be the next victim. Lealan and Lloyd handle it very well for there age and their family settings, they could have fallen into the wrong crowd but they stayed above water. I can only imagine the pressure they went through and the thoughts they had, but they used they're education and each other as away of staying on point. When there's violence involved its never implicit its always explicit because its something that effects the neighborhood or the nation. Some may try to keep it hush hush but violence always unravels whether now or later. As for me i have seen violence to the fullest extinct and it just made want to strive harder to make it. Violence is never entertaining but then again i guess people think of it as a car crash most people watch as others do. In everyday life we all see some sort of violence or hear about it,some of us choose to ignore it others try to make a difference even if that means just surviving and not becoming part of that percent.
